Our Story

Our Story

Coral exists to raise the standard in eyewear.

We’re a family owned eyewear house, driven by a love of our craft. We’re here to give the brands we partner with a better experience, to put better product in front of the people who wear it, and to leave the industry better than we found it.

The beginning

The beginning

It started with a pitch. Ours was a university competition, where co-founder George Bailey asked: what if we made great-looking glasses and sunglasses out of recycled plastic? Sustainability was always going to be the heart of Coral — but the glasses had to look good, be beautifully made, and the brand had to be fun.

Finding our feet

People liked what we were doing. Before long, Coral was stocked in hundreds of independent opticians who believed in the mission and in the quality of the frames. We opened our own retail spaces too — including one in Miami with Virgin Voyages.

Then things turned towards elite sport. We began working with names like Williams Racing. The moment that stopped us in our tracks was being named Official Eyewear Supplier to the Great Britain Cycling Team — the clearest validation yet of the quality and performance we’d been chasing.

Other brands started knocking

Fashion brands and sports teams began asking whether we could design and build eyewear collections for them, too. So we built for it: in 2023 we opened dedicated Private Label and Licensing divisions to help other brands develop, launch and grow their own eyewear collections. Growth came from welcoming others in too — Pala joined the group in 2023, and Lensrappa followed in 2025.

Still family-owned. Still the same spark.

Still family-owned. Still the same spark.

Today we’re a growing, family-owned business, with dedicated licensing and private label divisions helping other brands build their own eyewear collections. We haven’t lost that initial spark: we still love what we do, and treat every brand we work with exactly like it’s our own.
